Artist In Residence

Do you want a free studio in the centre of Oxford? Can you offer your time to support homeless people to learn new skills and engage with our visual arts programme? We are offering free use of a studio in return for 4 hours per week of voluntary time (worked flexibly). To request a job description and application details, e-mail info@oldfirestation.org.uk with ARTIST IN RESIDENCE as the subject. Deadline for applications – 10.00am, Monday 4 July Interviews –  Wednesday 20 July

Participate in Playground

An artist-led initiative, Playground is an open platform for artists to share, discuss and develop new work. Playground, now in its third year, is the most fertile creative hub in oxford. Oxfordshire Theatre Makers

The mission of Oxfordshire Theatre Makers is to link local theatre practitioners, encourage professional opportunities within the Oxfordshire area, and establish the county’s reputation for creating excellent home-grown theatre. The Old Fire Station supports OTM. Find out more.

Come to a Scratch Night

Got a work in progress you want to try out? Then come to one of our Scratch Nights. Each season, we have a Comedy, Dance or Theatre Scratch Night where artists can test out their work in front of an audience and get feedback immediately afterwards. Work with Crisis

Crisis are always interested to hear of artists from any practice who may be able to provide valuable skills and work with Crisis Skylight Members. If you feel that you could help both charities work together to bring the arts to everyone, then email Helen, Crisis Arts Coordinator>

Studio Artists

We have six artist studios for rent. They have 24 hour access and an abundance of natural light. See who our current studio artists are. Please note: all our studios are currently full.

A Home for Dance

The Old Fire Station is a home for dance in central Oxford offering a wide range of classes and space for professional dancers to create and showcase work. We work in partnership with Oxford Dance Forum to support the professional  development of dance through the Home Bed programme.
