Vacancy: Maker in Residence

Calling artists with craft-based skills. Do you want a free studio in the centre of Oxford? Can you offer your time to support homeless people to engage with our visual arts programme? We are offering free use of a studio in return for 8 hours per week of voluntary time (worked flexibly). Application deadline: 3 March. Find out more.

Be part of Oxford Marmalade 2015

Remember OxfordJam? It’s now Marmalade! Running parallel to the Skoll World Forum (13 – 17 April), Marmalade is co-ordinated by inspired individuals and independent organisations, offering you the chance to create and attend events focused on social change. Participate in Playground

An artist-led initiative, Playground is an open platform for artists to share, discuss and develop new work. Playground, now in its third year, is the most fertile creative hub in oxford. Get in touch to share your work or just turn up to experience some of the freshest locally grown art. Find out more.

Come to a Scratch Night

Got a work in progress you want to try out? Then come to one of our Scratch Nights. Each season, we have a Comedy, Dance or Theatre Scratch Night where artists can test out their work in front of an audience and get feedback immediately afterwards. Work with Crisis

Crisis are always interested to hear of artists from any practice who may be able to provide valuable skills and work with Crisis Skylight Members. If you feel that you could help both charities work together to bring the arts to everyone, then email Helen, Crisis Arts Coordinator>

Be part of the Oxford Fringe 2015

Following three successful years at the Oxford Fringe, Underground Venue‘s Tom Crawshaw will be programming an ambitious line-up of work at the Old Fire Station for the 2015 Oxford Fringe (22 May – 7 June). All types of acts are welcome – comedy, theatre, magic, music, family shows – and everyone from TV stars to complete newcomers. Find out more.

A Home for Dance

The Old Fire Station is a home for dance in central Oxford offering a wide range of classes and space for professional dancers to create and showcase work. We work in partnership with Oxford Dance Forum to support the professional  development of dance through the Home Bed programme.

Exhibit in the Gallery

Through an open approach to exhibition programming, we aim to give support to a range of artists, curators and artists groups, as well as creating opportunities for collaborations with other art forms and partnerships with other local and regional cultural organisations. Working closely with Crisis Skylight, and integrating with the shop, theatre and dance spaces, we aim to bring an outstanding and wide-ranging programme to the public.
